With a Masters in Engineering, Curtis left his hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan and embarked on the road as a stand-up comic, working alongside comedy greats like 'Werid Al' Yankovic, Billy Gardel and Carl Reiner. He guest-starred on the ABC sit-com Rodney in an episode loosely based on his experiences performing for the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan ("When Rodney Comes Marching Home").
As well as roles on TV and film Curtis has appeared in several plays, most recently Neil Simon's Rumors, but most memorably in Romeo & Juliet: The Last Battlefield, where he played the Prince of Verona/Captain Kirk character in a performance immortalized in Roger Nygard's film Trekkies 2.
Currently Curtis can be seen starring in the sci-fi original Hollow Ship on Funny or Die which he co-wrote and produced, as well as his original web series 12 Sided Die at www.12sideddie.com.
Soon, you will be able to see Curtis is in the upcoming sci-fi horror film 5th Passenger starring such Star Trek greats as Tim Russ, Marina Sirtis and Armin Shimerman.
