debra sullivan

At the age of seven, sitting in front of a television screen, Debra’s life changed in an instant. There on the screen was Debbie Reynolds, singing, dancing and acting in The Unsinkable Molly Brown. A course was set. Yes: her family thought she was nuts to want to pursue this career. Yes: she hit “pause” a couple times to raise two children--but Debra never gave up on her dream. Consequently, she got to do all of the above, and continues to this day.

Some of her favorite stage roles include: Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, Nancy in Oliver, Desdemona in Othello, Cookie in Rumors and The Woman in Closet Land. In film she has had the opportunity to work with some of the top actors out there, including Val Kilmer, Steve Guttenberg, Bernadette Peters, Richard Pryor, John Candy, etc. And on the small screen, she’s been lucky to work some of the top shows, including Criminal Minds, ER, Private Practice, and Big Love.

When not acting or being a mom to her two amazing puppies, she is writing with her husband/partner/best friend, Adam Marcus. Together they have written over 50 screenplays including Conspiracy, Texas Chainsaw 3D, The Plantation, Momentum (starring Olga Kurylenko, James Purefoy and Morgan Freeman,) Velocity, and their latest, Secret Santa. And TV. Did she mention TV? They are also currently developing two television series.

In 2015, Debra and Adam joined forces with long time producer Bryan Sexton to form Skeleton Crew Productions. This exciting move has allowed her to take more control of her career while helping to the boost the same in so many other talented actors she knows. She, Adam and Bryan currently have several films and television shows in the pipeline, Secret Santa being just the first (which gave her first opportunity to co-produce a feature film). Behind the scenes or in front of the camera, with only more and more Crew to come, it’s a very busy, very happy life!
